Primavera P6 is the contract-grade CPM standard — when a DOT or owner mandates a scheduling tool, it's usually this one. Ganttry doesn't pretend to replace that mandate. It opens the XER files P6 users send, logic and calendars intact, and gives the rest of the team a live browser schedule at $20/user/month instead of a quote-only Windows desktop seat that runs roughly $4,300 in year one per reseller quotes — Oracle publishes no list price.
Ganttry's annual plan vs a P6 Professional perpetual license plus first-year support, per reseller quotes — Oracle publishes no list price. About a 20× gap.
Ganttry is one live schedule with presence, conflict-safe saves and history. P6 Professional is a Windows desktop app; sharing a schedule means exporting and emailing XER files.
Ganttry imports XER with logic and calendars preserved, and re-imports monthly updates in place. It does not export XER — if the contract requires P6-native files, you still keep a P6 seat.
There is no price on Oracle's website — P6 Professional is sold by quote through Oracle sales and authorized resellers. The figures below are what resellers publish and quote as of July 2026; treat them as the going rate, not an Oracle list price.
Reseller list runs about $3,880; typical quotes land around $3,492–3,520. Quote-only — no published price, no card checkout, no self-serve trial.
Oracle support runs about 22% of the license (~$774–854 the first year) and renews annually with uplift. Technically optional — but it's what gets you upgrades and support.
Oracle's newer cloud scheduler, also quote-only via resellers. A different product from P6 Professional — this page compares against the desktop P6 most contractors are actually asked for.
Compared against P6 Professional, the desktop edition. On core CPM mechanics the two agree — the split is collaboration, access and price on one side, enterprise depth on the other.
A perpetual license sounds cheaper eventually — but with ~22% annual support renewing on top of a ≈$3,880 license, P6 never crosses under Ganttry's line. Five years out, one supported P6 seat (≈$7,500 before support uplift) still costs about what thirty-five years of a Ganttry seat would. And that's one seat: P6 pricing is why only the scheduler gets P6, while Ganttry's $20 is why the whole crew gets Ganttry.
P6 figures are reseller quotes (≈$4,300 year one, ≈$800/yr support renewals thereafter, before uplift) — estimates, since Oracle publishes no list price. Ganttry is the published $200/user/yr annual plan.
Drop the XER your scheduler or GC sends into Ganttry and the logic, lags and calendars come through intact. Monthly updates re-import in place. To be plain about the reverse trip: Ganttry exports PDF, Excel, CSV and MS Project XML — not XER. If the owner mandates P6-native files, keep one P6 seat for the submittal; Ganttry is where the rest of the team works between submittals.
