The partner program

The partner program lets a reseller run client companies on Ganttry, with partner staff, a partner dashboard and monthly invoiced billing.

A partner is a reseller that runs its clients' companies on Ganttry. The partner's staff look after those companies with full company-admin powers, and the partner buys licenses for them on one monthly invoice, paid to Ganttry directly. To become a partner, see the partner program on the Ganttry site.

Where to find it

Partner staff open the partner dashboard from the avatar menu: Partner dashboard, followed by the partner's name. The page head reads "Partner — " followed by the partner's name, with "<partner name> · partner administration" under it.

Partners and partner staff

Ganttry sets up each partner by hand: the partner itself, its per-license monthly rate (a named tier or a rate of its own) and the staff accounts linked to it.

  • Partner staff get full admin access to every company the partner owns — the same powers as a company Admin. They open each client company's Company page from the dashboard's Manage….
  • Partner staff use no license, in any company, and hold no memberships.

The partner dashboard

The dashboard has five cards.

  • Billing summary — the partner's status, its rate per license per month, paid licenses (and how many end this cycle), trial licenses, the current billing cycle, and an estimate of the next invoice.
  • Next invoice (live estimate) — the lines the next invoice will carry so far, company by company, with a total.
  • Companies — each client company with its licenses in use, its status and its actions (below). + New company… creates a company.
  • Invoices — each invoice with its date, service period, amount and whether it is paid.
  • Partner staff — the people linked to the partner.

Licenses for a client company

  • Add licenses… — the licenses start now, and the next invoice includes the days left in the current billing period.
  • Cancel licenses… — the licenses you cancel stay active until the current billing period ends, then they end.
  • Start 14-day trial… — offered for a brand-new company with no licenses. It's free for 14 days; after that, the company must switch to paid licenses before adding or re-enabling user accounts.
  • Convert to paid… — turns a trial's licenses into paid licenses; billing starts that day and is prorated on the next invoice.

Licenses never move between a partner's companies: add and remove them company by company. A client company's admins see "Licensing is managed by" the partner's name on their License card, and no Stripe buttons — see Licenses and billing.

Billing

  • Billing runs on monthly cycles that start on the partner's start date.
  • At the end of each cycle an invoice is fixed: one prorated line for each license added during the cycle, plus each company's licenses for the cycle ahead. The dashboard always shows a live estimate of the next one.
  • Partners pay Ganttry directly — by ACH, on an invoice, never through Stripe. Ganttry marks an invoice paid when it arrives.
  • An unpaid invoice turns the partner's status to past due: "An invoice is unpaid. You can't add licenses once it has been unpaid for 14 days from its issue date." New licenses are blocked until it's settled — the companies already working are never locked out.

Who can use it

Partner staff open the partner dashboard, and the Company page of each company their partner owns. Company users inside a client company work as usual; their roles are set by the company's admins or by partner staff. See Who can see and do what.

Good to know

  • A partner-billed company never touches Stripe, and a company billed through Stripe can't be attached to a partner — the two ways of paying never mix.
  • When a trial ends without converting, the company's admins are told "The free trial for this company has ended — ask your partner to convert it to paid licenses." when they try to add someone.
  • The step-by-step version is Look after your clients' companies.
