Reports
The Reports page gathers every report in one library, across projects or for one project, and says which plan of each project it reads.
Reports is one page with every report Ganttry makes. A library on the left lists them; the one you pick opens beside it, with its own scope, its exports and a line saying exactly which projects and which plan of each it covers.
Where to find it
Open Reports from the sidebar (under Insights). It is there in every session, local mode included. On a narrow screen the library becomes a Report select at the top. The page remembers the last report you opened on this device.
The library
The reports come in two groups.
Across projects, for questions that span several projects:
| Report | What it answers |
|---|---|
| Crew & equipment demand | How many people and machines the plans call for, by trade or type, per day, per week or per project, and where that beats what the company has. |
| Resource assignments | Who and what the plans book on each project, day by day, and what sits idle. |
| Crew & equipment lookahead | The printed three-week sheet of the crews and equipment a project plans, with the names assigned. |
All three are explained on Crew and equipment reports.
One project, for one project at a time:
| Report | What it answers |
|---|---|
| Project progress | Planned against reported progress, by area, and the areas running later than the baseline. |
| Schedule quality checks | Whether the schedule's logic, dates and progress meet the DCMA-style thresholds. See Schedule quality checks. |
| Schedule update narrative | The monthly update's written sections: progress, critical path, changes and outlook. See The schedule update narrative. |
| Contract-day ledger | Contract working days charged and excepted, and the forecast against the days allowed. See Contract days and weather days. |
| Cash Flow | Planned cost by month across the schedule. See Cost and cash flow. |
An open report
An open report shows its title, a one-line purpose and the exports it has: PDF…, Excel… or Copy, only where one exists. Under the title is the scope bar:
- a cross-project report lists its projects as chips; the × on a chip removes that project and + Add projects… adds more. Click a chip's name and choose
Only Bridge 12to narrow the report to that project, and the first row of + Add projects…,The default (15 projects), goes back to the report's own choice. It also shows only the controls that report uses, such as Weeks (2w to 26w), Crew or Equipment, By project, By day or By week, and Groups; - a one-project report has a Project select. Project progress also has
As of: The plan now ▾beside it (see Project progress as of an earlier plan).
With nothing chosen, a cross-project report covers every active project you can see, up to 15 (every eligible project when none is active). A one-project report opens on the project you picked last, or else the first active project. The projects you choose last for this browser tab.
Which plan a report reads
Under the scope bar, two lines say what you are looking at:
- the Viewing line: the report, the projects, the period and the units, in the chart's own words, for example
person-days per week; - the publication line. Reports read each project's latest plan. When every project is Live it reads
Latest plan. When a project is a Draft, the line names it and says what crews see instead, for exampleLatest plan · Route 9 Culvert is a Draft — crews see the plan published Sep 21, 9:00 AM by Dana Ruiz, with aDraftpill.
The line never lists what changed between the two plans; it only says which one you are reading. See Draft and Publish. Only Project progress can read an earlier plan, below; every other report reads the latest plan.
Project progress as of an earlier plan
Project progress can run on one of the project's earlier plans instead of today's. Click As of: The plan now ▾ beside the Project select. The menu lists the plan now first, with the day it is measured at (its data date, or today when it has none, such as The plan now · no data date, so Oct 6, 2026), then the project's Saved versions, then its Automatic saves — the same lists as its History, newest first.
Pick one and the report is worked out on that plan, at that plan's own data date (or, with none, the day it was saved). The button then reads As of: Plan A, the Viewing line says as of Plan A, saved Oct 6 (no data date, so Oct 6, 2026), the publication line starts Plan A, saved Oct 6, 9:59 PM, and PDF… names the plan at the top right of the sheet, as As of Plan A (saved Oct 6) · no data date, so Oct 6, 2026. Choose The plan now to come back.
Nothing is stored: opening another project or reloading the page brings back the plan now. A plan that can't be opened says why, and the report stays on the plan now. Loading an earlier plan reads Loading Plan A… while it works.
When something is missing
A report says what it could not do rather than showing a spinner or a zero:
Choose at least one project to see this report.None of the chosen projects can be included in this report.when every chosen project is another company's;- a project that failed to load stays as a dashed chip, and a note says the report covers the others;
Could not load the report — check your connection, with Retry;- past 15 projects:
The report covers the most projects it can (15)., then the names left out; - a supply nobody recorded reads
Not recorded, never 0.
Drilldowns
In Crew & equipment demand, click a cell with a number to see the Contributing tasks in the side pane. In Project progress, every area running later than the baseline has Show contributing tasks. Each task row has Open in schedule, which opens that project in the editor (from demand, with a matching filter already applied). ‹ Back to report or Esc closes the pane and puts you back where you were; the report behind it is not rebuilt.
Where each report lives
Demand, Resource assignments and Project progress draw right on the page. The lookahead shows each chosen project's three-week window and prints its sheet with PDF….
The other four one-project reports open in the editor as dialogs. Each has a button that opens it for the chosen project: Open schedule quality checks…, Open schedule update narrative…, Open contract-day ledger… and Open Cash Flow…. Each switches the editor to that project and opens the dialog over it. Closing the dialog leaves you in the editor; Reports in the sidebar brings you back.
The editor has its own doors to the same dialogs for the open project: Tools ▾ → Schedule quality checks… and Cash flow…, and from Update progress…, the Schedule update narrative… and Contract-day ledger… buttons. The editor's Views → 3-week lookahead is a filter on the schedule, not this report; see Filters, saved views and the 3-week lookahead.
From Projects
On the Projects page, Report on selected projects hands the ticked projects to the last cross-project report you opened (Crew & equipment demand the first time). The side pane's Report on this project opens Project progress for that project. Either way the report shows ‹ From Projects to take you back.
On Roster & equipment, Where are they? or Where is it? opens Resource assignments at that person's or machine's row.
Printing
Printing the page prints the open report, without the library.
Who can use it
Everyone but Field accounts: a Field account has no sidebar and lands on My tasks instead. A report only ever covers projects you can see. Company roster and fleet numbers need a connected company. See Who can see and do what.
Good to know
- A cross-project report covers at most 15 projects.
- The Weeks, Crew or Equipment and By project, day or week choices are remembered for you.
- Someone booked for only some of a task's days fills it only on those days, in Crew & equipment demand and in Resource assignments alike. To see and change who works where day by day, use People.
