Your account: sign in, profile and password

Your company's account lives at app.ganttry.app. This page takes you from the invitation your admin sent to a working account, and shows where your own details live.

Your first sign-in#

   Open your invitation link. Your company admin sends it to you by email, or copies it into a text or chat message. It works once, and for 7 days.

   Set your password. The page greets you by name: Welcome, your name — set your password. Type a password of at least 8 characters under New password (at least 8 characters) and press Set password & sign in.

   You are in. Ganttry signs you in straight away. From now on, sign in at app.ganttry.app with your email and that password, then press Sign in.

If the page says We couldn't open this link., the link has expired, has already been used, or the connection dropped. Try again, or ask your admin for a new one. Go to sign-in takes you to the ordinary sign-in page.

What you see first#

Where you land depends on your role. Who can see and do what explains the roles.

• Admin and Editor: you land on Home, with the sidebar on the left. A company admin also sees Company in the sidebar, under Administration (see the Company page).
• Field: you land on My tasks (see Work, My tasks and Calendar), your own assignments across every project you can see. There is no sidebar. The top row carries My tasks, Work and Calendar, and on a phone the same three sit at the bottom of the screen.
• Partner staff who belong to no company land on their partner dashboard.

Your avatar sits at the right end of the top row. Its menu holds Profile…, Change password…, Keyboard shortcuts…, Help & support… and Sign out, and it is the same menu wherever you are.

Your profile#

Open your avatar menu and choose Profile….

Your photo#

Everyone starts with a colored circle of their initials. Under PHOTO, press Upload photo… to use a picture instead. Ganttry crops it to a square and shrinks it before it uploads. Change photo… swaps it and Remove photo goes back to your initials. Your picture shows in the top row and in your company's user list, and only people who share a company with you, and the instance admin, ever see it.

Your name#

Under ACCOUNT, type your name and press Save (or Enter). It saves at once and the dialog says Name saved. If you close the dialog with a new name typed and not saved, Ganttry saves it as it closes.

Your email#

Your email is the address you sign in with, so changing it takes a confirmation.

   In Change email, type the New email and your Current password, then press Send link.

   Ganttry emails a link to the new address. It works once, for 24 hours. Until you open it, Profile shows which address is waiting, and you keep signing in with the old one. Cancel change withdraws the request.

   Open the link and press Confirm new email on the page it opens. Not now leaves without changing anything, and the link keeps working until it expires.

From then on you sign in with the new address, and your old address gets a notice that it changed. While a change is waiting, your company admins see an email change pending badge beside your name in their user list.

If Ganttry can't send email, Change email… is off and Profile says so. Ask a company admin: they can correct your name or email directly with Edit… in their user list. The steps for admins are in Invite people, set roles and manage licenses.

Profile also shows your Role. Your company admin sets it.

How long you stay signed in#

A device you sign in on stays signed in for up to 30 days. If you don't use Ganttry on it for two weeks, it asks you to sign in again sooner. A tablet left in a truck over a long break will ask for your password when you come back. Sign out in your avatar menu ends the session on that device.

Your password#

• To change it, choose Change password… in your avatar menu, type your Current password and a new one of at least 8 characters, then press Change password.
• If you forgot it, press Forgot password? on the sign-in page. When Ganttry can send email, type your email and press Send reset link. The link works once, for one hour. Otherwise the page says to ask your company admin, who can make you a reset link or set a new password for you.

Setting a new password, by any of these routes, cancels every other invitation or reset link still out for your account. After five wrong passwords in a row, the account is locked for 30 seconds. After that, each further wrong password locks it again, for twice as long each time, up to 15 minutes. A successful sign-in clears it. Security and sign-in has the details.

Good to know#

• Your name and email change on everything from now on. Records made before the change, such as who saved a version, keep the name they had at the time.
• A training class account keeps the name its trainer set, and an email Ganttry generated; neither can be changed from Profile.
